An Important Message
Hello parents and guardians. This is Principal Cheryl Gray with an important message.
Emotions are running high at schools across the District in response to the results of the presidential election. Today, a number of our secondary students, not at Nestle gathered together and walked-off campus. The safety of all students and staff remains our highest priority and all walkouts were closely monitored by staff and the Los Angeles School Police Department.
We teach our students that they have a right to freedom of speech. They are also allowed to participate in peaceful demonstrations on campus during non-instructional times, within parameters set by administrators. They are not permitted to leave school, and any students who do so, may face disciplinary action.
Please talk to your child about these sensitive issues and please encourage them not to leave campus.
Thank you and have a wonderful long weekend.”
