We have first graders going on a field trip to the Placerita Canyon Nature Preserve on Tuesday and Wednesday, ELAC meeting on Tuesday morning at 8:30am in Rm #19, and Governance Meeting on Thursday afternoon at 3:00pm in the library and our Fun Run on Friday during grade level psychomotor times. Our Fun Run is to raise money for psychomotor, so find out more and register to make pledges for your child at funrun.com. You may also want to volunteer to get involved in the fun run. If so, contact our Parent Center director, Teresa Luu at email@example.com. In response to concerns about the anti-Semitic flyer left on the kindergarten fence at Nestle, I am moving forward with plans to have a security door and system installed. This system will include monitors, cameras and buzz in and out features. Parents have approached me to help raise money towards this effort and I have agreed to any efforts, donations, etc. to help us make Nestle a more secure campus for our students. I will keep you posted on our progress. Lastly, I want to thank law enforcement for their quick response and continued monitoring. Although the flyer did not contain a direct threat, the hateful comments feels threatening and reminds us all to stay vigilant. Although we cannot control the actions of bigots, we can take steps to maximize the security of our campus so that we can do the job we are committed to doing, that of educating young minds in a nurturing and safe environment.
